名古屋大学博物館出張企画展「続・木曽馬とはどんな馬なのか～みなさんの声から～」
（会場：木曽町 御嶽山ビジターセンター　さとテラス三岳）

名古屋大学博物館では、純血木曽馬「第三春山号」の骨格標本を常設展示しています。第三春山号は生涯にわたり700頭の子孫を残し、木曽馬の保存に大きく貢献しました。また、死後には剝製や骨格標本として、木曽馬のからだの特徴を伝え、その存在感を通じて木曽馬と人々との関わりを理解する手がかりとなっています。

　2024年4月22日から5月12日まで、長野県木曽町文化交流センターにて名古屋大学博物館出張企画展「木曽馬とはどんな馬なのか展」を開催しました。この展示では、第三春山号を中心に、木曽馬の「からだ」、「れきし」、そして「今・これから」を紹介し、多くの来場者から―木曽馬とはどんな馬なのか―についてのお気持ちやお考えを「お声」として聞かせていただきました。

　本展示では、「続・木曽馬とはどんな馬なのか展」を開催し、前回の展示内容に加えて、来場者の皆さんの「お声」も展示の一部としてご紹介しました。引き続き、木曽馬が有する魅力や人との暮らしにおける可能性について、皆さんとともに考えていきます。

Nagoya University Museum has a permanent exhibit featuring the skeletal specimen of the purebred Kiso Horse, "Dai-san Haruyama." Dai-san Haruyama fathered 700 offspring throughout his lifetime, greatly contributing to the preservation of the Kiso Horse. Even after his death, as both a taxidermy and skeletal specimen, he continues to convey the physical characteristics of the Kiso Horse, serving as a key to understanding the relationship between Kiso Horses and people through his presence.

From April 22 to May 12, 2024, Nagoya University Museum held an off-site exhibition titled "What is Kiso Horse?" at the Kiso Town Cultural Exchange Center in Nagano Prefecture. Centered around Dai-san Haruyama, the exhibit introduced the Kiso Horse s BODY, HISTORY, and PRESENT AND FUTURE. Many visitors shared their thoughts and feelings about what kind of horse the Kiso Horse is, which we gathered as their "voices."

In this exhibition, we hosted the follow-up exhibition, "What is the Kiso Horse? The Sequel: Featuring Everyone s Voices," where, in addition to the previous content, we will also introduce the visitors' voices as part of the display. Together with all of you, we will continue to reflect on the charm of the Kiso Horses and their potential in daily life with humans.

木曽馬ふれあい体験会
（会場：名古屋大学教育学部附属中・高等学校グラウンド）

「骨しか見たことがない」・・・名古屋大学博物館ではよく聞かれるお言葉です。

今を生きる木曽馬にも会いたくなるね！ということで、お世話体験や引き馬体験をしながらふれあい体験をしました。

● プログラム 1　木曽馬についてのおはなし

岐阜大学高等研究院の高須正規准教授に、木曽馬について分かりやすくお話いただきました。
高須先生は獣医さんであり、かつ、木曽馬を社会学的な側面から捉え、木曽地域をフィールドに調査研究を進めています。

●プログラム 2　木曽馬のお世話体験

木曽馬へのえさやりや、ブラッシングをしながら、木曽馬の里（開田高原）のスタッフの方に木曽馬の話を色々聞くことができました。

●プログラム 3　木曽馬の引き馬体験

かつての木曽義仲や将軍になった気分で乗馬できたかな、と思います！木曽馬のからだの作りを直に感じられる体験になったかもしれません。

●見学のみも！

会場となるグラウンドには、木曽馬に関する展示パネルを配置しました。

名古屋大学和式馬術部の部員や、名古屋大学博物館学生運営スタッフ団体MusaForumの学生スタッフとの交流も楽しんでいただいていました。

It makes you want to meet a living Kiso Horse, doesn't it?
So, we held a hands-on event where participants could interact with Kiso Horses through grooming and lead-riding experiences.

●Program 1: Talk on Kiso Horses

Associate Professor Masaki Takasu of the Gifu University Institute for Advanced Study gave an easy-to-understand talk about Kiso Horses.
Dr. Takasu is a veterinarian who also studies Kiso Horses from a sociological perspective, conducting field research in the Kiso region.

●Program 2: Kiso Horse Care Experience

Participants enjoyed feeding and brushing the Kiso Horses while listening to various stories shared by the staff from Kiso- uma-no-sato (Kaida Kogen).

●Program 3: Lead-Riding Experience

Perhaps participants were able to feel like Kiso Yoshinaka or even a shogun as they rode!
It may have been a chance to directly sense the structure and movement of the Kiso Horse's body.

●Exhibition Viewing Only

Exhibit panels about Kiso Horses were installed on the ground where the event was held.
These panels were originally displayed in the Nagoya University Museum traveling exhibition "What Kind of Horse Is the Kiso Horse?" (April 22 – May 12, 2024, Kiso Town Cultural Exchange Center, Nagano Prefecture).

Participants also enjoyed interacting with members of the Nagoya University Japanese-Style Riding Club and student staff from MusaForum, the student-led organization of the Nagoya University Museum.

木曽町主催企画「きそまち回遊ミュージアムスタンプラリー」での第三春山号解説

2024年8月3日（土）～11月30日（土）に、木曽町をめぐる旅として、木曽町（長野県）が主催する「きそまち回遊ミュージアムスタンプラリー」に、名古屋大学博物館も協力しました。

今も開田郷土館に木曽馬紹介の特設スペースをいただき、ご紹介しています。

スタンプラリー期間外も、その他の館も歴史・自然探索にオススメです！

From August 3 to November 30, 2024, the Nagoya University Museum took part in the "Kisomachi Walking Museum Stamp Rally," a town-wide exploration event hosted by Kiso Town (Nagano Prefecture).

We continue to have a special exhibition space at the Kaida Folk Museum, where we introduce the Kiso horse.

Even outside the stamp rally period, the participating museums are wonderful places to explore the history and natural environment of the region.

第三春山号のお話絵本「木曽馬物語（あさじよりこ作）」の朗読会を開催しました。小松志づ子さんの脚色と心に染み入る声色により、当時の様子を伺い知ることができました。

実際、当時の様子を知る地元の方から「当時の記憶が鮮明に浮かびあがった。ありがとう」という感想をいただきました。

We held a reading session of Storybook: 'Kiso Uma Monogatari' (Authored by Mrs. Yoriko ASAJI), featuring the tale of Dai-san Haruyama. Through Mrs. Shizuko Komatsu's adaptation and her deeply moving voice, listeners were able to get a glimpse into the past.

In fact, a local resident who knew the situation at the time shared their thoughts, saying, "The memories from that time vividly resurfaced. Thank you."

木曽産材（木曽ひのき）を用いて、木曽馬のおもちゃを作るモノづくりワークショップを開催しました。縁の角張ったところを紙やすりで丸くしながら、木曽ひのきの良い香りと案外柔らかく加工しやすい木ということを学ぶことができました。

We held a craft workshop where participants made Kiso Horse toys using Kiso hinoki wood. As rounded the sharp edges with sandpaper, we learned about the pleasant fragrance of Kiso hinoki and how surprisingly soft and easy it is to work with.

名古屋大学博物館は、純血木曽馬「第三春山号」の骨格標本を常設展示しています。

第三春山号は生涯に700頭の子孫を残し、木曽馬の保存に貢献しました。
さらに、第三春山号は死んだ後も剥製や骨格標本となって、木曽馬のからだの特徴を伝え、その存在感を通じて木曽馬と人との関わりを理解する手がかりとなっています。

本展示では、第三春山号を中心に、木曽馬の「からだ」、そして木曽馬の「れきし」に触れながら木曽馬の「今・これから」を考えました。また、展示や対話を通じ、皆さんのお声を聴かせていただきました。

The Nagoya University Museum features a permanent exhibition of the skeletal specimen of the purebred Kiso Horse, Dai-san Haruyama.

Dai-san Haruyama, having left a legacy of 700 descendants, significantly contributed to the preservation of the Kiso Horse breed.
Even after his passing, Dai-san Haruyama's taxidermy and skeletal specimens continue to convey the unique characteristics of the Kiso Horse, providing insight into the connection between the Kiso Horses and humans.

In this exhibition, we focused on Dai-san Haruyama and explored the "body" and "history" of the Kiso Horse while considering its present and future. Through the displays and dialogues, we also had the opportunity to listen to your thoughts and impressions.

博物館浴とは、博物館の持つ癒し効果を人々の健康増進・疾病予防に活用する活動のことです。

ストレス社会に対し、博物館は何ができるか？　次世代に活かす博物館を目指し、取り組んでいます。

「若者のメンタルヘルス支援に効果は？」という実証実験では、木曽馬の展示スペースでもギャラリートークと自由見学により検証しました。「未来について考えよう」との投げかけのあと、活気・活力があがったことが確認されました。

Museum bathing refers to the activity of utilizing the healing effects of museums for promoting health and preventing diseases among people.

In response to the stress society faces, museums are exploring what we can offer. We are striving to become museums that contribute to the next generation.

In an empirical experiment asking "Does it have an effect on supporting the mental health of young people?" we validated this hypothesis by combining gallery talks and free exploration in the exhibit space featuring the Kiso Horse. It was confirmed that after prompting to "consider the future," there was a noticeable increase in energy and vitality.

講演会「木曽馬の保存？木曽馬の保全？」
（会場：名古屋大学博物館　および　オンライン）

岐阜大学の高須先生に、木曽馬を獣医としての科学的視点から、そして地域社会の文化的視点から講演いただきました。

保存と保全の言葉の意味から、「木曽馬を守っていくとはどういうことか」考える機会を提供いただき、木曽馬は長い歴史の中で木曽の人々に育まれ、自然環境や地域の文化と深く結びついた存在であることを改めて認識しました。

We had the opportunity to hear a lecture from Dr. TAKASU, Gifu University on the topic of Kiso Horses, both from a scientific perspective as a veterinarian and from a cultural perspective within the local community. 

Through discussions on the meanings of preservation and conservation, we were prompted to contemplate what it truly means to "protect Kiso Horses." The reaffirmation has come to us that Kiso Horses, nurtured by the people of the Kiso region over their long history, stand as an integral part of the local culture, intimately connected to the surrounding natural environment.

大岩友理写真展「48年後の木曽馬たち」

木曽馬の今を伝える写真家・大岩友理さんに、木曽馬の写真展を特別展「岐阜大・名古屋大 博物館コラボ展」の会場スペースにて開催いただきました。

「現在の木曽馬の祖」と言うべき第三春山号がこの世を去ってから48年の今、木曽馬の里にて暮らす木曽馬たちの春夏秋冬を写真展の中でダイナミックにご紹介いただきました。

Photographer Yuri OOIWA, who captures the essence of Kiso Horses through her lens, showcased her photo exhibition at a special collaboration event titled "Collaborative museum exhibition of Gifu University and Nagoya University."

Since Dai-san Haruyama, the forefather of modern Kiso Horses, passed away 48 years ago, dynamic portrayals of Kiso Horses living in Kiso-uma-no-sato throughout the seasons have been captured.

木曽馬の里から、はるばる名古屋大学博物館へ。スタッフの中川さんと高橋さんが「ひのき号」を連れて来てくださいました。多世代、多国籍が集い合い、馬を中心に会話がはずみました。

引き馬していただいている景色の向こうに、車がたくさん見えてます。（どんな感じがしますか？）

Far from Kisouma-no-sato, Mr. NAKAGAWA and Ms. TAKAHASHI brought a Kiso Horse, Hinoki. Generations and nationalities mingled, conversations revolved around the horse.

Beyond the scenery of horse back riding experiences, numerous cars can be seen. Well, ｗhat do you feel like?

名古屋大学博物館第29回特別展「東海国立大学機構連携企画 岐阜大・名古屋大 博物館コラボ展」

The 29th special exhibition at Nagoya University Museum: Collaborative museum exhibition of Gifu University and Nagoya University as Tokai National Higher Education and Research System

2020年4月、岐阜大学と名古屋大学が「東海国立大学機構」という一法人のもとで手を結び、新たなスタートが切られました。

これを象徴するようにして、両校の学術標本コレクション（歴史、医学、動物、植物）を紹介する特別展を開催しました。

コレクションの一つ、「ウマ」においては、名古屋大学博物館所蔵の木曽馬（最後の純血木曽馬と言われる「第三春山号」）の全身骨格標本を中心に、

名古屋大学および岐阜大学で行われている「木曽馬」の教育・調査・研究にもとづく対話の空間づくりに注力しました。

In April 2020, Gifu University and Nagoya University joined forces under the single legal entity known as the Tokai National Higher Education and Research Systems, marking a new beginning.

To symbolize this collaboration, a special exhibition was organized, showcasing the academic specimen collections from both institutions in the fields of history, medicine, zoology, and botany.

In one of the collections, specifically the "Horses" exhibit, we focused on creating a dialogue space centered around the full skeletal specimen of the last purebred Kiso Horse known as "Dai-san Haruyama" from the Nagoya University Museum.

This effort was dedicated to fostering dialogue based on the education, investigation, and research of Kiso Horses conducted at both Nagoya University and Gifu University.
